After learning more about Frederick's transportation needs and how projects are funded, we believe the Town needs a dedicated source of transportation funding and a way to accelerate improvements so residents aren't waiting years for needed projects and services.

I started going to the Town's Transportation Task Force meetings because I couldn't stand the rough roads and wanted to know what the Town was planning to do about them.
I learned a lot.
I didn't realize how complicated some of these projects are, or how difficult it can be to find the money to get them done. I also learned that the Town has a plan, one that I can believe in, but needs both funding and the ability to issue bonds to get in front of future issues, while fixing the problems we have today -- like our rough roads.

Having the opportunity to work on many issues as a Trustee. It gave me the chance to truly see the areas in Frederick that needed attention. 8 years of speaking to our residents and reading the results of surveys sent out by Frederick, the condition of our roads was a subject that always finished as a top 3 issue.
A 1% sale tax will give Frederick the opportunity to correct and or repair the roads and streets within Frederick in the future. Without this tax Fredericks roads will continue to become worse.
My wife & I have lived in Frederick for 22 years and will need to pay this additional 1% sales tax, just like everyone else. The Fixin FREDS Roads Task force can answer any questions you may have.
